I heard he sang a good song....I heard he had a style....
I AM THANKFUL...
FOR THE MESS
TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY
BECAUSE IT MEANS THAT I HAVE
BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.
FOR THE CLOTHES
THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.
FOR MY SHADOW
THAT WATCHES ME WORK
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE.
FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING
I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT
BECAUSE IT MEANS THAT
WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
FOR THE PARKING SPOT
I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE
PARKING LOT BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING
AND THAT I HAVE BEEN
BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION.
FOR WEARINESS
AND ACHING MUSCLES
AT THE END OF THE DAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE BEEN
CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.
FOR THE ALARM
THAT GOES OFF
IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS
BECAUSE IT MEANS THAT I AM ALIVE.
I think sometimes we all need to be reminded of these things, and the simple silly things that we should be grateful for.
Tonight, F.W. de Klerk, former President of South Africa, and Nobel Peace Prize Winner came to speak at Murray State. He had some interesting points-he mostly talked about globalization and what it means to be all connected to each other (in a circle, in a hoop that never ends...ok that wasn't him that was from Pocahontas...but it flowed with the song...anywho..) Pretty much he was saying how we all need to be more apathetic and aware of everything that is going on- granted, we can all be self-absorbed a lot of the times, but just be aware, and open minded i guess...
We live in the greatest nation in the world, and yet we are the unhappiest people in the world...there are indigenous tribes in various regions of the world, and they are probably 100% happier because they have no other worries but to simply live....we lose that concept of just living sometimes, with all the ways we push ourselves and stress ourselves over school, work, relationships, the weather...(which btw freud says the 3 things that makes us the most unhappy are 1. the natural forces because we can't control em 2. ourselves because we are our own worst enemy, and our bodies eventually deteriorate and 3. our interactions with other humans..) sorry i dont' mean to get off on this philosophical kick..but it just happens sometimes...
Sigma cleaned up our Regional Special Events Center tonight (RSEC)some high school basketball tournament thing...anyway it was late, i didn't want to clean, but it was fun acting silly and singing random songs while mopping the floor...weird i know..and plus Sigma gets paid $250...wahoo
Nothing really happening...it seems at times that i've lost focus of why i'm really here...this week i finally realized it and am going to change
My twin is getting initiated tomorrow! exciting stuff
Anyway i have some chemistry i need to finish, as well as some reading to get done..hopefully i'll be in bed before 5 this time...
sorry for the long ramble...but as you all know..it's what i do best...
ki bye
