Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road...

ROAD LESS TRAVELED

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth

Then took the other as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet, knowing how way leads onto way
I doubted if I should ever come back

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence
Two roads diverged in a wood
And I took the one less traveled by
And that has made all the difference

Robert Frost

I know it probably sounds cliche, but this is one of my favorite poems, simply because it can be applied to ANYTHING...to LIFE in general. I remember this was the poem for my senior class of 16 students. We did take the road less traveled, i mean we got crap on why we wanted to ever switch schools our senior year, but it was DEFINITELY worth it. life is all about crossroads and forks in the road. Too bad you can't clone yourself and see the many outcomes of where the roads will lead you. Or become a nun and move into a cave with tigers and bears...lol sorry that was random.

But really if you think about it...that's what living is all about. Taking chances, taking risks, taking a jump....if nobody ever jumped, we would all be the same, and that would be very boring. We would never be able to learn...to grow...to ..LIVE..

I absolutely admire my mom. She definitely took many jumps in her life. I mean..can you imagine travelling to another country at 19 years old...and working there..? She had just gotten her nursing degree, and one day she decided to go to Saudi Arabia..just because she felt like it...She didn't tell my grandparents until she was fixing to leave, and she sent them a telegram saying she was going to work in Saudi. By that point, they couldn't do anything..i mean what can you do? so they just sent her some money...and she boarded that plane...and the rest is history. Mom meets dad...and along comes Randa Gilanne..She was 19...I'm 19..and...I can't say I would even have the courage to do something like that. Another thing is just deciding to come to America. She was thinking about the future. Her future..my whole family's future...She took that jump to leave something familiar..and totally landed on completely unfamiliar territory. And for that, i am thankful..I am...blessed...i truly am. It is very easy to forget how lucky we are, but when you find the time, think of how good life is and count your blessings. It just makes you more...appreciative of every little thing.

Well i hope i didn't bore you...i just felt like i had to say this.

And so to finish the title of this post...

Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go
So make the best of this test, and don't ask why
It's not a question, but a lesson learned in time
It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right,
I hope you had the time of your life.

-Green Day, "Time of Your Life"

Until next time

Thanks for tuning in to my random philosophical moments
