TODAY

Another windy fall day in Murray, Kentucky...can't believe last week was in the eighties....but it's cool...(literally..haha..) More reason to wear my new Sigma jacket!

Today in my biology freshman orientation class, Dr. Leon Dubuonis-Gray came to speak to us from the department of Parasitology. While everyone was cringing at the slideshows...i was taking notes..i thought it was really interesting....did you know that there are these parasites that can get into your bloodstream that have spikes when they are born just so they can puncture your capillaries and blood cells? And you get them from wading in contaminated water in Africa....and also....if you're pregnant..stay away from cats....they have these cysts that are excreted through their feces...and if somehow a pregnant woman comes into contact with them....the baby will be basically brainless...SO yea...this is something that i may actually want to do someday...sounds random i know..but i'm thinking with that...i could do more humanitarian work.....i really don't know

They have a Christmas tree on the roof of my dorm.....kinda neat cuz you can see it from everywhere..YEA LIZZO!!! They also have wreaths on all the lamps on campus...Way to get into the spirit early! Actually...i'm excited about Christmas....and the cold...i WANT SNOW!!!

I was at dinner tonight and this girl...came up to me and asked if I have yet gone to a Christ Ambassadors meeting ( which is basically like a Christian sorority/cult...) NOt really the people are nice...just that some are....fanatical..like this one in particular..Anyway...i told her i have yet to go and i have been fairly busy with school and sorority (i know lame excuse right..) but she keeps on persisting that i should come check it out..and i'm like well i have a big test tomorrow so i can't come tonight...and she asks me if she can pray for me...i'm like...O ok sure..thinking that she was just saying that...b/c...here..apparently people pray for you when you have...a paper cut....BUT NO...she actually starts praying for me and my test tomorrow!!!................SO........YEA...........talk about embarrassing.....Don't get me wrong..i belive in the power of prayer.....but seriously....it's almost as if prayer is just being used too loosely..... when it comes to tests....it's basically up to you.....OY....first came Brother Jim preaching about how everyone who is in a sorority, is Catholic, and listens to country music...is going to Hell....then the very next day after he left...some old men in suits and hats were handing copies of the New Testament all over campus....and now this...AHHH....Gotta love living in the Bible Belt....(and if that offends you in anyway...then...whatever....think what you must..and i'll think what i want....)

So it's been almost three weeks and my dad has still not spoken to me.....
