Don't Cry for meeee Argentinaaaaa

The Simpsons in French is a nice break from the horrific scenes from the devastation in SE Asia that keep replaying on every other channel...they say the death toll is now up to 60,000...that's so sad but then on the other side one can be amazed at the spirit of humans...and the few survivor stories..Here in canada, they have managed to raise almost 2.5 million dollars in the span of three days...

I'm thinkin that i kind of want to do more humanitarian work...maybe a sort of a travelling doctor...hmmm.....

We're leavvvin on a train tomorrow night to head to montreal, then Gian, my grandmother, and I should be in Toronto at 3 p.m on Thursday, December 30, 2004...so this may be the last blog i have until next year (funny how that sounds so far away yet it's only a matter of days away...)

Found this on someone's website:
"As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let us down probably will. You will have your heart broken, probably more than once, and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing so fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too hard, and love like you've never been hurt, because every 60 seconds you spend mad or upset is a minute of happiness that you'll never get back."

I've used up...3-4 rolls of film in the span of...a week and a half...tis getting expensive....and i'm also sneezing like crap...boo to the cold weather..it' s -36 degrees Celsius btw up here in lovely Campbelton, Nouveau Brunswick, Canada...definitely definitely NOT in Jackson, TN anymore....

Well i'm off to watch VH1's top 50 One hit wonders...Nite Ya'll
or Good nite eh :-) See ya'll next year

When the pimps in the crib ma...

Happy Boxing Week everyone! For the non-Canadians that are reading this...apparently it is the time period after Christmas where everyone boxes up the gifts that they are going to return, reuse, re whatever...and there are lotsa deals..So basically it's the big after Christmas sales for all us Americans

Apparently the trend these days is a bigger butt...as evident by this woman who is having butt surgery because she wants something in between "J-Lo and her mother's" Hmmm looks like i'll be in style for a while then...

The biggest earthquake in 40 years hit Southeast Asia hard...there are currently over 25,000 dead...it's said to be the costliest and deadliest natural disaster in human history...you realize then that life is just a fleeting moment, and anything can change in an instant...

Gian and I hit up the slopes again this afternoon, only it was much more colder and windier than the other day that we went...The wind was so bad..it was making my eyes water and the slopes were icy so it was harder to ski...although there was a really beautiful sunset...so it made me forget about the wind for a little bit..until i stepped outside from the lodge to take pictures. It's spose to blizzard here tonight...so maybe the slopes will be better with the fresh snow...

It's really nice to listen to my grandmother's stories of her when she was younger..and...i think i have somewhat a clearer idea of how i'm related to the Sultan of Brunei!

Well looks like i'll be watchin Pimp my Ride for a while so catch ya'll later

Merry Day After Christmas

"it's a small world": The happiest cruise
that ever sailed! Surreal and silly, or sweat
and touching, you are a well intentioned 1960s
homage to the world's diversity that
unfortunatly inspires feelings of sheer terror
in those who can't help but feel something more
sinister lays beneath your shiney surface. But
most cannot deny your charm, even if they
cannot explain it, and leave feeling better
than when they entered. Most overlook the fact
that because of your unique style and design,
courtesy of Disney Legend Mary Blair, you are a
true work of art and you deserve to be
appreciated. You are both worldy and
simplistic, both cosmopolitan and decidedly
middle American. You are a splendid
candy-coated contradiction with a sugary, sunny
song that one never forgets. If the world
truely listened to your never-ending optimism,
it could be a small world after all.

Merry Day After Christmas but might as well still be Christmas everyone! Hope everyone ate lots more because i sure did!

SO i definitely now know where i get my random singing of songs from...my aunt Aldara, grandmother, and I were doing that all day today while cookin and cleaning and whatnot for tonight's party. I sang along to the elvis songs and other sappy love songs that i knew...and when i wasn't i was singing disney and broadways songs (so what else is new)And no i didn't sing It's a small world, but i almost did....

My cousin Rashad and my uncle Hassen were conversing in French today..it was really interesting to listen to but it just sounds like a bunch of gibberish...i'm sure that's what i sound like though when i speak in Tagalog or Taglish...mostly taglish

That's something that i NEVER EVER want to lose..Tagalog or the little that i still know and remember is something that would be very hard to get back...English well bah that's everywhere...but how many people do you know that speaks Tagalog? My point exactly...besides..it's a part of who i am...makes me...me..It's really sad because my cousin Rashad does not know Tagalog..well i mean can't blame him..my aunt and uncle never spoke it around him..twas always french and english...French because first of all it's Canada...and because my uncle is from Mauritius and they speak French there...and English..well because it's easy..but i think that denies someone of knowing a part of himself... I have other cousins here in Canada and California..and even Maryland...they live where there are a lot of Filipinos and Filipino culture around them, yet they cannot speak or understand a word of Tagalog..at the same time...me in lil ole Jackson...don't get me wrong it's growing..just...i guess it makes me appreciate my culture more because i'm not around it ENOUGH..it makes me long for it...that's why i LOVE visiting big cities because i can get that and feel in touch....ok i'm getting toooo nationalistic...and rambly....but hey that's the beauty of blogging...So moral of the day...um..Don't ever forget how to speak your language...which would be... English...(muahaha)

Well i'm watching Miss Congeniality..and then off to bed so i can hit the slopes tomorrow! Nite everyone

Quote of the day: "What is the perfect date?"
"I would have to say...April 25th..not too hot,
not too cold, all you need is a light jacket!"

And i think to myself...what a wonderful world

The world is a walking commercial full of weight to lose and money to gain.
The world is a walking contradiction of what it offers and what is accepted.
The world is a place where the free are imprisoned in a 9 to 5 cubical selling their artistic souls to Tetris.
The world is full of close-minded fear of a same sex love turning into a animal porno.
The world is waiting for new voices to fill the void of the youth struggling to get respect.
The world is a stage of flamboyant extroverts prancing on the prowl waking the introverts.
The world is my place to play the field with my oblivious flirtation-smacking people in the face.
The world is gum on my shoe reminding me of how much time I don’t have left.
The world is a scene for romance, sword fights, late nights at steak and shake with friends.
The world is crammed with loud mouths competing for airtime in a single conversation about shoes.
The world is a prison…
The world is a gift…
The world can be bipolar....
The world is…

I stole this from someone's website...dont' really remember who

Merry Christmas everyone! So we wait all year for Christmas and it leaves us so quickly...it's definitely nice to spend Christmas up here with family in New Brunswick, but it will be nice to be back home in Jackson

I got a George Foreman from my cousin. That's definitely going to be put to use in lovely Murray...the only thing is I now have to declare this gift at the Canadian/US border...hope they don't tax me too much...Other things were a toboggan/mitten set, some girly pretty stuff like lipgloss and lotions...and some Indian moccassins..those are pretty cool too

Tonight we're going to a Christmas party..should be fun :-)

Well kids that's all i have for now, more later

Maligayang Pasko!

Pasko! Pasko! Pasko nanaman uli!!!

Maligayang Pasko Everyone!! Or Joyeux Noel or Feliz Navidad..either way MERRY CHRISTMAS!

SO this is Christmas

Spent Christmas Eve chillin...watched Titanic with my brother and cousin..how funny is that? Great movie btw..classic love story

Went grocery shoppin for the post Christmas/pre New Year party on the 26th

Had fondue for dinner! Twas great...nice change from the typical dinner! Note to self: Try to find one for the familia

Had my uncle's brother come over...traded presents, talked about TN, they commented on our "American" accent, the weather and all that jazz...had tea and cookies

Looked outside the window and a neighbor was up on the roof dressed up as Santa! How cute

So 2004 was a fairly good year...had ups and downs...but what year doesn't..so here's what needs to happen in 2005:

Next semester will definitely have to be kick ass

I really need to focus more on my needs and not what others want or expect of me, that includes trying to please everyone..because..it's just not feasible

Slow down and absorb everything that happens-i go through life too fast it seems

Start being decisive as opposed to being INdecisive (i think it has something to do with my zodiac sign...if one believes in all that)

These aren't resolutions...these are what NEEDS to happen

and another thing-I don't make sense a lot of times...that needs to change as well

so i'm getting off here before i don't make any more sense

Maligayang Pasko! more to come later

I'm Dreamin... of a white..Christmas....

So today Gian and i hit up the slopes in beautiful Parc de Sugarloaf

Let's just say Randa will be sleeping REALLY WELL tonight

I'm so sore, but surprisingly...I didn't fall down! *knocks on wood*

We were just on the beginner slopes today...tomorrow we're hitting up the big ones!

Oy it's really nice getting to spend time with family up here

My cousin Rashad came up this morning

Oy ok i have nothing really to say..just wanted to take up time...that's nice to do nothing while you're on break....

Sorry for the ramblings (not like anyone else reads this anyway)

Peace out

*EDIT* 11:20 p.m. Canadian time (which..is..2 hours ahead of Jacksonians)

I just want to say that i LOVE LOVe LoVE The SOund of Music...awww and watching it with my aunt was even better! I'm still incredibly sore but i do feel better after my shower...and i smell like strawberries! Yay

Is there such a thing as TOO cheerful? ...Or maybe i'm just really bored right now...hmmm anyway..here's another pretty picture and another insight to who i really am and where i fit with the rest of the world....

A beautiful sight, we're happy tonight, walkin in a winter wonderland

Greetings from New Brunswick, Canada

Plane ticket-$420
Train ticket-$400 (canadian)
Riding 18 hours on a train in first class-PRICELESS

Well we finally made it here! We've had a few delays on the way, but it's all good! It's so nice getting to see my grandmother and my aunts up here. AND it's COLD! As soon as Gian and i stepped off the plane...yea we were definitely NOT in Tennessee anymore... My aunt Jo made fun of me because i said you needed a face mask because of the wind and she commented that "Face masks are for wimps" So there you have it ladies and gentlemen...

The 18 hr train ride here to New Brunswick was really not bad...we were ONLY delayed 2 hours...riding in first class was pretty neat though, we had 2 beds and i slept on the top bunk while my grandmother slept on the bottom. We had someone that kept waking us up telling us that we were near and he brought us breakfast.

It's a two hour difference up here so i'm still in Jackson time...it is almost 8:00 here...

We went driving around today and Gian and i stepped in snow and we sank a foot deep! It's so pretty here-just like what you see in postcards...we took a few pictures of course. The snow is just like fine sugar. Don't know what all we have planned tomorrow but it's cool, no time limits..so i have to wrap up some presents so i guess i'm peacin out until the next time i can post!

It's so hard to say Goodbye....

So long, farewell, auf widerzhen, goodbye to Murray...well at least until i come back next year...

WOO HOO for finals being over...my math one wasn't as bad as i thought..i mean..i should've known everything on there, but of course i didn't...so yea i'm thinkin i'm takin it over next year....

YAY FOR BEING HOME

Matt picked me up and we looked at all the pretty Christmas lights around town, that was cool

SO tomorrow, i'm heading to my old stompgrounds at Madison Academic HS...to see teachers and whoever else might be there...then it's errands nonstop then seeing all my Jackson people :-D

Saturday is packing and family Christmas!!

Sunday i leave at 5 freakin o clock to head to Memphis INternational to fly into Toronto!! whoo hoo for that

What's cool is that i am my brother's guardian for the next two weeks..MUAHAHAHA...

So this might be my last post of the year 2004...you were a good year

This first semester was alright...it could've been better, but then again on the bright side, it could've been worse

Next semester i'm going to kick booty-yay for taking 20 hours.....LOL, we'll see how long THAT'll Last....

I'm so blessed to be surrounded by my family and friends who truly love me for me..You're the GREATEST

I'm so glad i joined Tri Sigma!

I"m also glad to be out of the furnace in Lizo 504..that and i'm now in a lady-bug free zone...I'll be damned if i come back and the two that i didn't get the chance to suffocate got it on and started a whole family on the ceiling....

And remember, if you think things are bad...think that IT COULD ALWAYS BE WORSE...TAKE LIFE's EVERY OPPORTUNITY and BE SURE to SLOW DOWN SO THAT YOU MAY ABSORB WHAT IS GOING ON

ANwyay, that's it for now...PEACE OUT 2004!! Good memories...fun times! Bring it on 2005!

kitsune
Though they rarely caused mankind any serious harm,
these Japanese fox spirits known as kitsune
were well known for playing tricks on people
and could be a real nuisance. They possessed
the ability to transform into any creature,
though they would often retain their fox tail.
One could easily determine the age and level of
maturity of a kitsune by counting it's tails;
An immature, rambunctious kitsune would have
very few tails, while a wise and powerful one
would have as many as nine.

As a kitsune, you are clever, sensual, beautiful,
mysterious and effeminate (even if you are a
guy). You are also somewhat sneaky and like to
pull pranks on people, but otherwise you are
very pleasurable to be around.

EFFECTS OF FINALS ON COLLEGE STUDENTS

IN HONOR OF FINALS WEEK.....

Today we salute you- stressed out college student during exam week. As you sit in your lonely cubical in the library, doped up on starbucks & adderall, you think to yourself, am I ever going to need to know this stuff in life? The distractions are tempting, and you have suddenly diagnosed yourself with ADD, along with advanced delusionary schizophrenia with involuntary narcissistic rage. I'm sure by now you know exactly what everyone is doing because you have checked your buddy list 800 times. Christmas break is just days away, and your prozac prescription will be in tomorrow. So crack open an ice cold bud light after that last exam, because for most of us, Christmas will be spent in rehab.

Hope you are all enlightened now

ONCE AGAIN GOOD LUCK ON FINALS TOMORROW

Beauty queen of only 18, she had some problems with herself....

Plain Sight
B:

Your Beauty lies
in Plain Sight. Plain, simple and the girl next
door. People tend overlook you as you are the
"normal girl", but you're actually
very beautiful. And you have plenty about you to
set you apart, but more that
lets you blend. People love the stability you have
because as others may come
and go, you will always be there and you may always
be the same. You like simple
things and that's what people like about you. You
most likely enjoy things most
consider normal, like movies, shopping, that sort
of thing and are very friendly
and probably have many friends. You are sweet and
kind and that shows on you,
but you're also strong and not very naive. You're a
rather well-rounded
individual. Even though some people pass you off as
just another girl, shrug it
off because they don't know what they're
missing.

So it's finals week...one more to go tomorrow....and it's my math final....

Honestly it's so hard to get motivated now for that class because i know i'm going to take it over....BLAH

So i have this sick little hobby that i like to do now...it's called SUFFOCATING LADYBUGS IN AN EMPTY PEPSI BOTTLE..i swear they keep multiplying every time i come back to the room...there were 4 when i left to go eat..i come back and there's..SEVEN....So now i have two on the bottom of the bottle and they are upside down with their legs kickin up...i mean..as long as they didn't get all over my stuff i'm cool..but the minute they do, it's BOTTLE TIME...You know that fact that a person will probably swallow eight spiders in their lifetime? What's scarier is that i've probably swallowed that many ladybugs already in my sleep....UGH to dorms

Anyway..more studying...PEACE OUT

Man I feel like a woman

Every Woman Should Know ...

How to fall in love without losing herself.
How to quit a job, break up with a lover and confront a friend without ruining the friendship.
When to try harder and when to walk away.
How to kiss in a way that communicates perfectly what she would and wouldn't like to happen next.
How to have a good time at a party she'd never choose to attend.
How to ask for what she wants in a way that makes it most
likely she'll get it.
That she can't change the length of her calves, the width of her hips or the nature of her parents.
That her childhood may not have been perfect, but it's over.
What she would and wouldn't do for love.
How to live alone, even if she doesn't like it.
Whom she can trust, whom she can't and why she shouldn't take it personally.
Where to go, be it to her best friend's kitchen table or a charming inn in the woods, when her soul needs soothing.
What she can and can't accomplish in a day, a month and a year.
Why they say life begins at 30

Every Woman Should Have...

One old boyfriend you can imagine going back to and one who reminds you of how far you've come.
Enough money within your control to move out and rent a place on your own, even if you never want or need to.
Something perfect to wear if the employer or man of your dreams wants to see you in an hour.
A purse, a suitcase and an umbrella you're not ashamed to be seen carrying.
A youth you're content to move beyond.
A past juicy enough that you're looking forward to retelling it in your old age.
The realization that you are actually going to have an old age and some money set aside to help fund it
A set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill and a black lace bra.
One friend who always makes you laugh and one who lets you cry.
A good piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in your family.
Eight matching plates, wineglasses with stems and a recipe for a meal that will make your guests feel honored.
A resume that is not even the slightest bit padded.
A feeling of control over your destiny.
A skin care regime, an exercise routine and a plan for dealing with those few other facets of life that don't get better after 30,and all those other facets of life that do get better.

Yay for community service and helping the Sig Eps out this week! They definitely exceeded their goal of $1,000 and ended up makin $2,200!!! $500 of the proceeds bought toys for 38 needy children and the rest goes to our volleyball coache's family, whose wife was diagnosed with brain cancer.

On Thursday we had our crush dance...twas pretty fun! You know me though, i just pretty much shook my groove thing all night...yea for sigma stroll!!

Breck and I actually spent time tonight. We had dinner with Alexander then she, Brandon (her new..boy..) and I went to go see Elf in the auditorium for a dollar. That movie is so cute! Twas nice to talk to her...she's still out with this new boy..hopefully things go well for her b/c her former guys have been shitty (scuse mah french!) to her. Afterwards went to the Sig Ep house to attempt to play pool..but i was tired so i was in by midnight like Cinderella...but on the plus side, i did talk to Matt for an hour and 15 min! yay for that! *HUGZ*

I had my Student Ambassadors interview this afternoon. I thought it went ok but i felt like i was rushing. Brittaney assured me i did fine..so i guess we'll find out soon enough.

5 more DAYS!!!! Then i get to leave for Canada...WHEEEEEEE!!!

Blah i'm goin to do something productive other than type out my life...

And Remember:

THE BEST WAY TO SPREAD CHRISTMAS CHEER IS TO SING LOUDLY FOR ALL TO HEAR!!!!

So on that note....MELE KALIKIMAKA IS THE THING TO SAY ON A BRIGHT HAWAIIAN CHRISTMAS DAY..THAT'S THE ISLAND GREETING THAT WE SEND TO YOU FROM THE LAND WHERE THE PALM TREES SWAY..HERE WE KNOW THE CHRISTMAS WILL BE GREEN AND BRIGHT...THE SUN TO SHINE BY DAY AND ALL THE STARS AT NIGHT...MELE KALIKIMAKA IS HAWAII'S WAY TO SAY...MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU!!!!

Peace Out A Town Down....(*Imagine the intro to Usher's "Yeah" playing in the background...besides Mele Kalikimaka..if that's not in your head right now...*)

Awwww!!!! BABY!!!

joy
TYPE #1: This heart is joyful, often thought of as
the eternal optimist. You are probably fairly
sheltered, which is not a bad thing. You may
know of the pains of the world but choose not
to dwell on them. You dont see why people cant
just be happy. I mean the world is full of
great things! You probably have no enemys
seeing as how you are great at keeping your
temper at a low. You have great patience, and
want to help everyone.

What kind of heart do you have? Many different outcomes. Nice pics!

I'm a survivor...I'm not going to give up....

It's Finals time.....

Hello all you faithful ones who read the events in my life

Nothing much happening here...except..oh wait...it's finals time...

Baby it's cold outside...

Today is December 1st.

That means:
-I have 15 days before my semester ends (and according to my math teacher, 15 shopping days to get him a present...)
-I have 18 days until i leave for Canada
-There are 24 days until Christmas

I'm so excited for this semester to end, i mean next semester will be pretty much the same...but just ready for a change. Finals are coming up..and it's going to be INSANE....

I have 2 final tests next week, and then the next week is finals week....Gentlemen, start your coffee makers......

I was watching Oprah earlier and just started crying. There were some really touching stories. The whole theme was "Heroes behind the scenes" and there was this one teacher who was almost stabbed to death in front of her class by her estranged husband...and the one that got me was this little boy who got mauled by pittbulls..he was the cutest little boy! And this woman saw and out of her car and jumped on top of him.. Needless to say, she was missing an eyebrow after it was over, and had a few bites on her arm and back....but the little boy came out on Oprah with flowers and thanked the woman for saving him his life...then he started crying and that got Oprah and the audience crying..which got me crying because just the way he said it was so touching.....Hah...I'm such a girl.

I can't stand Jessica Simpson's voice....she had a nice voice when she first came out..(I want to love you forever) where she actually used her voice instead of all this breathy trying to sound sexy crap that everyone tries to pull off....i mean i could do that but that doesn't mean i'm making millions and have my own tv show now does it? And the whole dumb blonde thing....i would feel offended if people kept making me act stupid all the time...but hey if you're getting paid for it..then we might have to make a negotiation..BUT NO...

Teehee..Spanish Rap is really entertaining to listen to

Hmm...i really don't have that much else to say tonight...so i guess i'm Peacin out and continue my date with Henry V....blah to him SO MUCH
